Matt is from Calgary, Alberta, Canada but recently moved to the Pittsburgh suburbs to continue his career in the shale gas hotspot of the Pennsylvania Marcellus play.

Gear:
A lot of people comment on my photography and one of questions I always get is "What kind of camera do you have?."  I think its fair to say that in today's digital camera market the best camera is the one that is on you.  That could be a Blackberry, an iPhone, a 4 megapixel point and shoot or an 21 megapixel SLR. I wish people would take that to heart and take photos with whatever they have BUT have an idea on good composition and technique. When it comes to Canon or Nikon or whatever, I think it comes down to what your friends are using.  You can ask your friends camera questions, borrow and try out lenses and enjoy the new stuff each company comes with together.

That being said, here is what I have for gear:

Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Canon Digital Rebel XSi
Canon Powershot G9  (Dead!) and now a Canon Powershot G11
